4 ply yarn - 5 yds orange, 6 yds crochet cotton.
One 8" green chenille stem.
Stuffing.
3/4" magnet.
Crochet hook size G and #4 steel hook.
Gauge : 4 ply and G hook 4 sc = 1"; 4 sc rows = 1"
Finished size ball is 3 + 1/2" diameter.
BALL : Do not join rnds unless stated. Mark first st of each rnd.
Rnd 1: With G hook and orange, ch2, 5 sc in 2nd ch from hook (5).
Rnd 2: 2 sc in each st around (10).
Rnd 3: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 4: (Sc in next st, 2 sc in next st) around (15).
Rnd 5: Sc in each st around.
Rnd 6: (Sc next 2 sts tog) 7 times, sc in last st (8). Stuff.
Rnd 7: (Sc next 2 sts tog) around (4). Leaving 6" for sewing, fasten
off. Sew opening closed.
HOOP : Twist 1/4" on each end of chenille stem tog to from ring.
Rnd 1: With #4 steel hook and using crochet cotton, join with sc around
ring, ch 10, (sc around ring, ch10) 6 times, join with sl st in first sc
(7loops).
Rnd 2: Sl st in first 6 ch, ch 10, (sc in next ch 10 lp, ch 10) around,
join with sl st in first sl st.
Rnd 3: Sl st in first 6 ch, ch 6, (sc in next ch 10 lp, ch 6) around,
join as before.
Rnd 4: Sl st in first 4 ch, ch 6, (sc in next ch 6 lp, ch 6) around,
join. Fasten off. Glue magnet to outside of hoop.
